I. The Lord Reigneth Psalms 99:1
Russian cosmonauts came back from space and said We did not see God anywhere.
A. He is not a delinquent landlord. Some people believe that God exists but he does not have anything to do with this earth.
B. He is present. Daniel 2:21.
1. He changes the time and seasons. You may not think so, but he controls the times and the seasons.
2. He removes kings and sets up kings.
a. Russian autocrats for many generations held people in slavery, but suddenly none were left, they were all killed.
b. Leaders of our nation.
&nbps;B. Let the people tremble.
&nbps;&nbps;1. He sits enthroned between the cherubim.
&nbps;&nbps;2. The earth quakes at His presence.
&nbps;&nbps;3. The angel at the tomb. Matthew 28:1-4. The bravest Roman soldiers of the time shook and trembled at the sight of one angel.

&npsb;C. He is great in Zion. Psalms 99:2.
1. He is high above all the people. We are sinners; He is holy. He does everything well; on the other hand we understand little. We don't even know what to pray for.
2. Praise His name for it is holy.
D. He loves judgment. Establishes equity. I was recently reading a book about a young man in Russia who was taken before a judge because he attended an Adventist church. He was sentenced to juvenile detention. How unjust was that judge administering injustice instead of justice. God will never be unjust. In fact we are told that the saved will spend 1000 years examining the books. Every case will be declared just. He is holy, we are unrighteous.
1. Conversion of people in Papua. Author Berkeley Vaughn relates that the people were murderous.
a. Murder established manhood. No woman would marry a man until that man had murdered at least 1 person.
b. Love, honesty - words non-existent. A missionary taught them about God and His honor. The majority of the tribe was converted. They wanted to be like the one that was presented to them. Friendship and unity - yes - change came - God established judgment and righteousness.
2 Exalt Him and worship Him. Psalms 99:5.
a. Respect works outward.
b. Bow down before Him. Psalms 99:6.
c. We acknowledge His sovereignty.
d. He is the giver of good gifts. James 1:17.
II. Moses and Aaron Among His Priests
Imperfect servants of God, they accepted responsibility and tried to do their best.
1. Moses smote the rock at the wrong time. Numbers 20:7-12. He hit it twice in a fit of rage.
a. He disobeyed, yet God heard him. Numbers 20:13-19.
b. Aaron rebelled at Sinai and afterwards with Miriam.
2. Yet God guided them into the promised land.
A couple got married. The wife was sure the husband was a good man. The wife was very forward and wanted to do things her own way. They were traveling in a wagon and one of the horses balked. The husband pulled out his gun, pointed it at the horse and said "That's one for you." The wife was astonished. Awhile later the horse balked again. The husband pulled out his gun again, pointed it at the horse and said "That's two for you." The wife's eyes were very big by this time. A third time the horse balked. The husband pulled out his gun again, pointed it at the horse and said "That's three for you." And with that he shot the horse dead. After this the wife was more than willing to cooperate with her husband.
Some people think that God is this way. But his righteousness and mercy with Moses was not permitted to go in. Instead, God resurrected him and took him to heaven - a greater reward
B. Samuel - dedicated but flawed.
1. His prayers were heard. 1 Samuel 12:16-25.
2. He hears our prayers as well.
III. He Spoke To Them In The Cloudy Pillar Psalms 99:7.
The Israelites saw the fiery cloud and saw God's presence.
A. They kept His testimonies.
B. He took vengeance of their inventions. Psalms 99:8. God had everything done to him; blasphemy, disobedience. The spies said we cannot conquer this land. We we disbelieve God we are calling him a liar.
1. Rebellion punished -40 years in the desert. God forgives us but we still suffer the consequences.
2. But He forgives us. God forgives us. He has mercy on us.
IV. Exalt The Lord Our God Psalms 99:9.
A. Worship at His holy hill.
B. He is holy.
C. He overrules in the kingdom of men. Daniel 4:34,35. Nebuchadnezzar thought he knew better than God. God told him that for 7 years he would live an animal. And so it happened. He failed to honor God. But after 7 years God had mercy on him.
1. Nebuchadnezzar praised God. Daniel 4:37. How great is the mercy of God.
2. He doeth according to His will. Daniel 4:35.
God forgave Nebuchadnezzar. Behold, today is the day of your salvation.
