All Out War
June 22, 2002
Pastor Bob Roberts

I. War Against Terrorism Not Real Because No Formal Declaration Has Been Made
In the media and in discussions, people are saying the war against terrorism is not a real war.

 A. War against saints has been declared Revelation 12:17. This war has been going on throughout history but especially since the Savior came to this earth.
  Dragon = Satan ( Revelation 12:9)
  Woman = Church ( 2 Corinthians 11:2)
 B. Satan against the Remnant. Remnant means the last part. Remnant is identified as keeping the commandments of God and having the testimony of Jesus Christ ( Revelation 12:17). The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy ( Revelation 19:10)
 C. He has a short time. Revelation 19:12

II. Actions Denoting Hate And Ferocity
Some of you may have felt the attacks of Satan, such as when attempting to get a job or in keeping a job.

 A. Eustorgio Chaparro - An Adventist student in Medellin Columbia. He was selling books during the Time of Violence. Captured and taken to the police station, he was interrogated about his beliefs and instructed to deny his faith. He was told to undress and was placed in ice water for hours. He remained firm and true.
 B. In El Cedral, Tolima. Terrible violence. Liberals believed in freedom of religion. Conservatives were intolerant of religious beliefs. 300,000 people were killed. Satan was warring against believers. Different methods of killing - Corte de Corbata, Corte de Franela, Corte de Corno. This was going on at a time when the gospel was being preached. Two boys ages 7-8 were told to sing their religious songs. While they were doing this, their uncle was killed and they were told to drink some of his blood or they also would be killed. How can people do this? Remember that we are in an all out war.
 C. P. Bolivar - The priest warned people not to see him. Although threatened, he would slip into an area to secretly meet with believers. Later, while on a trip, the priest was killed. Vengeance is mine saith the Lord. After this I went to a town to meet a man. The man arrived but acted as if he did not know me. He passed right by and sat down elsewhere. After looking around, he stood up and began to leave, barely motioning for me to follow him. I followed at some distance and he turned into a house. He was afraid for his life if anyone saw me meet with him.
 D. Bucaramanga - suffered much persecution. IT was very dangerous. Pastors who went into that are of the country never knew if they would return. Now there are scores of churches. Romans 5:20. It is a mission or perhaps even a conference with many believers.
 E. Colporters are especially persecuted. Colporters in Columbia were often students earning scholarships. They would take orders, then later return to deliver the books. Meanwhile priests would warn people not to take the books, even alerting the police to arrest them. Colporters remained faithful and true.
 F. Sogamoso - P. Gonzalez - H. Ziachoque. They went to give a Bible study. They say men as they went in, and these men were waiting when they came out, so they went out a back door taking a trail to the road. However, anticipating this, the men had people waiting at the road. They were attacked and beaten. Gonzalez escaped when a group of cattle were through. He saw his associate beaten with a 25 pound rock and expected that he was killed. However he survived and later when I was talking to him he said he was never happier than to be faithful during persecution.

III. "Be Thou Faithful Unto Death" Revelation 2:10.

 A. "Fight the good fight..." 1 Timothy 6:12.
 B. Things will get worse 2 Timothy 3:13.
 C. He who endures unto the end. Matthew 24:13.

What is our relationship with Christ at this time? Will you make a decided stand to be firm and true to God? Make Jesus first.
