I. Daniel Got Understanding. Daniel 10:1.
 A. He mourned until understanding came. Daniel 10:2.
 B. He fasted for 3 weeks. Daniel 10:5,6.
  1. Daniel alone saw it. Daniel 10:7.
  2. His companions were terrified.
  3. He himself was overcome Daniel 10:8,9.
  4. A hand touched him. Daniel 10:10.
  5. Words of encouragement followed. Daniel 10:11.
   a. He assured him he was heard from the beginning of his prayer. Daniel 10:12.
   b. An enemy withstood him. Daniel 10:13.
   c. Michael came to help him.

II. Evil Angels Resist God's Messengers. Revelation 12:7-9
 A. They were cast down into the dark world. 2 Peter 2:4
 B. The leader is called the prince of this world John 12:31; John 14:30; John 16:11.
 C. Rulers of the darkness of this world. Ephesians 6:12.

III. The Angels Are Ministering Spirits Hebrews 1:13,14.
 A. They ministered to Elisha at Dothan. 2 Kings 6:13-23.
  1. The servant's eyes were opened.
  2. The enemies eyes were blinded.
 B. They ministered to Isaiah & Hezekiah. 2 Kings 19:35.
  1. They were threatened. 2 Kings 19:10-13.
  2. More for us than with them. 2 Kings 6:16.
 C. The Lord's Promise Psalm 34:7.  D. The angel preserved them. Isaiah 63:9.
 E. They delivered Peter. Acts 12:5-10,11.
 F. They still intervene.
  1. Pastor Roberts related a story of his personal experience in the mountain town of Peque, Columbia. There was a spiritual leader in the town that was unfriendly and also commanded the garrison. At one point the leader left town and some of the citizens invited Pastor Roberts to the town to hold some meetings in a house. After he got there, one of the men brought the mules from the field nearby into the house and put them in a room. Pastor Roberts was told this was due to a commission the soldiers were taking, and they often took the animals and never brought them back. The meeting was held that night and the next morning they took the mules and rode out of town. It was very dark and hazy and you couldn't see anything, not even the ears of the mule you were riding on. Coming down the mountain they crossed a wooden bridge and the sound of the donkey's hooves could be plainly heard. He said later found out that the soldiers had been waiting for him all night at the bridge and never heard or saw him pass.
  2. Pastor Roberts related a second story of a plane he was piloting in the missions in South America. Taking off from a field the plane seemed to not develop enough power to pull up, and at the edge of the field, he yanked back on the wheel. The plane raised up but then seemed to falter. He turned and the plane seemed to catch and flew without problem. Certainly angels had kept that plane in the air.

IV. God Will Send His Angel To Protect In These Last Days
 A. As He did with Daniel. Daniel 6:21,22.
 B. New York - God's restraining hand.
 C. He has a care for those who love Him and serve Him. Isaiah 41:10.
