December 22, 2001 Pastor Bob Roberts Pastor Roberts presented texts from the Bible explaining how God promises to do great things. Key Texts:
Isaiah 9:6 Among the names for the Messiah is that his name shall be called wonderful. Matthew 1:21 Jesus name was told before he was born. Acts 4:12 Sinners are saved by the name of Jesus. Notice that the term Jesus Christ consists of two parts: Isaiah 7:14 In the old testament it was said that Jesus would be born to a virgin. Matthew 1:23 He was born in Bethlehem even though his parents lived in Nazareth. His birth was wonderful. Luke 2:42-46,52 His childhood was wonderful. Matthew 8:1-4 Jesus performed the miracle of healing the leper. He repeated miracles over and over. His miracles were wonderful. Matthew 27:50-53 His death was wonderful. Graves opened by earthquake. The dead arose. John 10:17 Jesus resurrection was wonderful. He had the power to take up his own life. John 14:1-3 We know of his promise to come again. Matthew 24:30-31 Psalm 68:17 His second coming will be wonderful. Clouds of angels accompany him in glory. Many things about Jesus were wonderful: Romans 5:8 While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Some look at Jesus name as wonderful, while some look at him with indifference. There is no other name under heaven whereby we are saved. |
