Truth
September 29, 2001
James Winegardner

James Windgardner presented the story of of 1 Kings 22. This is a story of character.

The three main characters are

  • Ahab - Evil king of Israel, made a treaty with the Syrians
  • Jehoshaphat - Good king of Judah, valued peace over truth.
  • The prophet Micaiah - told the truth even though it was probably that his life would be taken if he did in opposition to the 400 prophets who told the king what he wanted to hear. He was immediately imprisoned, but his words were true.

Micaiah saw God ( 1 Kings 22:19). We can draw near to God through:

  1. Prayer
  2. Study
  3. Nature

Key Texts:

1 Kings 22:6-8
