International Sabbath Day at Irving IRVING January 17, 2002 The Irving Seventh-day Adventist Church is holding its first International Sabbath Day to be held January 21, 2002 at the Irving church. International Sabbath Day celebrations will include:
"The purpose of International Sabbath Day is to celebrate the diversity of the Adventist church while remaining one body under Christ," states Rosa Denny coordinator. Says Denny, "With so many of our members speaking 2, 3 or 4 languages, we have to look no further than our own church to find both diversity and unity. Guests from any part of the world are comfortable at the Irving church." The following countries are expected to be represented by attendees:
Pastor Bob Roberts will be the speaker for the morning worship service. "Our church serves a diverse community of believers, and we reach out to all of them," says Roberts. Pastor and Mrs. Roberts speak both English and Spanish, having served as missionaries for over two decades throughout Central America. Sabbath lunch will be an International fellowship potluck meal. All attendees are invited to participate.
