Black Beans

6 cups black beans 1 tsp. garlic powder

2 quarts water 1 T. salt

1 tsp. oregano

Rinse and sort beans. Soak overnight. Drain and rinse next morning before completing

recipe. OR: Rinse and sort, cover with water, bring to boil and boil slowly for 10 minutes. Drain in colander and rinse under faucet. Put in a large pot and bring to a boil, adding oregano, garlic powder, and salt. Simmer until tender when pricked with a fork.
