"Better Mc" Burger*

1 15 ½ oz. can garbonzo beans 2 small-med.or 1 large onion

1 1/2 cups water 2-3tsp. salt & 1/4 tsp garlic powder

3 cups uncooked rolled oats 1 T. molasses

1 1/2 cups finely chopped walnuts 6 T. nutritional yeast

1/4 cup dried parsley flakes 1 1/2 tsp. sage

Blend garbanzos with some of the water till smooth. Repeat with onion and walnuts and add both mixtures to mixing bowl. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Let stand for up to 1/2 hour or refrigerate for several hours. Shape into patties and brown on a silverstone griddle. ( This recipe substitutes garbanzos for the larger amount of nuts most nut burgers use, so it contains less fat and fewer calories.) Makes 15 to 20 burgers. Patties freeze well.
