Community Services

The Community Services department is our means for taking care of the physical needs of our community as the first part of our world mission. Jesus stated in Matthew 26:11 "The poor you will always have with you" and we feel it is our duty to help them. Community Services organizes the funds, food and clothing donated by the members and solicited from the community to assist those that are in need. But we go beyond helping the immediate needs of the poor. We also assist the community by programs such as Healthful Cooking classes in an effort to improve the quality of life of Irving residents.

Dean Spurgeon is in charge of the Community Services Department of the Irving church. In this department for many years, Dean has the gift of discernment to evaluate the needs of people that are seeking assistance from the church. Dean is responsible for seeing that these individuals needs are taken care of. Immediate financial, food and shelter is provided based on need. Individuals are worked with on longer term issues such as employment, health care and unfortunate home situations.

Individuals seeking assistance should contact the church via phone.
