| International Sabbath Day
January 19, 2002 was declared International Sabbath Day (See Press Release). The purpose of International Sabbath Day was to celebrate the diversity of the Adventist church while remaining one body under Christ.
Members and guests from the following countries were represented.
| Brazil |
Philippines |
| Belize |
Puerto Rico |
| Guatemala |
Mexico |
| El Salvador |
Korea |
| France |
Romania |
| Haiti |
Ukraine |
| Ireland |
United States |
| Jamaica |
Venezuela |
| Kenya |
Zimbabwe |
| Sweden |
The feature of the day was the International Luncheon which included food from all countries. The fellowship hall was brightly decorated with flags and informational posters about many countries.
The Master of Ceremonies Ricardo Romero introduced each country followed by an interview of the people from that country. We found out information about foods, languages and customs. As church activities were reported from each nation, it was encouraging to hear how the church is prospering around the world through God's watchcare.
